Social Media and Communications Volunteer
The Employment Justice Center (EJC) is an organization aimed at protecting and promoting the rights of low-income workers in the DC metropolitan area through providing free legal advice and advocating for stronger laws to protect workers.
The EJC is looking for a committed volunteer to help us maintain a strong social media presence and assist, as needed, with blogging for our website. The volunteer will be responsible for posting relevant articles, updates, pictures and videos to the EJC facebook page and the EJC’s campaign Facebook page, Paid Sick Days for All, in an eye-grabbing way. The volunteer will also be responsible for tweeting on a regular basis on behalf of EJC and expanding our Twitter presence by growing our number of followers. The volunteer should be interested in EJC’s work and committed to advancing our mission through expanding and strengthening our social media and communications program.
The Social Media and Communications Volunteer should expect to volunteer a total of 5-6 hours per week for the EJC.
Volunteer should have:
training or experience working with facebook and twitter for campaigns or non-profits
strong writing skills
experience writing blogs for advocacy purposes
a general interest and commitment to the mission of the EJC
ability to create memes a plus
- proficiency in video editing a plus
